WHO WE ARE

E.A. Negri has come a long way since its beginning in 1928 as Mardegan and Negri. A fully owned and operated company by Tony Negri with a hundred years of combined experience in the construction industry continues to be Australia’s most experienced and capable civil construction company.

In 2017. We started and fully operated Hamilton Civil Plant Hire Limited in Wellington New Zealand and succeed our first project by our Director Richard Negri.

ABOUT US

Our founder, Domenico arrived in Australia from the alpine regions of northern Italy in 1921. He was 26 years old. Having served in the First World War in austro Italian Alps. He was a plasterer by trade. After a number of years working in Melbourne as a plasterer and having become literate in the English language, he went in to business in the concrete and terrazzo industry. He was successful and respected. He then went in to business in the construction industry in 1928 and he started his construction company D.M. Negri for over 30 years and he operated in Carlton. His 3 sons after school entered the business in the mid 50’s, and operated in Carlton and Fairfield.

In 1976. Tony went one way and Peter and Ronald went the other. Tony started and operated his construction business E.A. Negri and operated in East Ivanhoe and it was tough but Tony succeeded many projects. We operated in many offices such as, Auburn Road in Hawthorn and Burke Road and Tooronga Village Offices in Hawthorn East.

From 2001, my son Richard Negri entered the business and together we secured and succeed many projects over the many years while working together.
